Volkswagen unveils Concept taxi-named Milano

Volkswagen unveilsVolkswagen has recently benefited from the Hanover Fair in Germany to present his concept to the general public taxi-named Milano.

This concept promotes the optimization of passenger space to accommodate more people. These models of taxis will be designed primarily to cities such as New York, Cape Town, Milan, Berlin, Tokyo and Moscow, mainly because of the structures already in place in order to accommodate them.

Based largely on the Space Up! Blue concept had its debut at the Auto Show in Los Angeles in 2007, the changes experienced by the Milano focus on the door because the driver’s side have been removed so that passengers can enter and exit as the side of the sidewalk.

This door was also enlarged to accommodate a sliding door. The concept of electric taxi Milano is also equipped with touch screen similar to those found in New York taxis.

Like electric vehicles to be produced by Volkswagen in early 2013, Milano will use Lithium-Ion Battery 45 kWh which provide a range of nearly 300 km. Regarding the engine, this concept will use a 85 kW electric motor to achieve a top speed of 120 km / h.

Although Milan is only a concept, it is possible that the German manufacturer does not pass this car into production very soon in order to capture a larger share of the green car market.
