Present on the market for family breaks, the Mazda 6 Fast Wagon has a dynamic, exemplary and modularity. Diesel engines for Mazda MZR-CD are fairly recent, and therefore benefit from modern technology. Is this family is up?

Design:

The Mazda 6 comes in three versions, sedan 4-door sedan 5-door (hatchback), and break. Our test model, dubbed “Fast Wagon” by the brand is the estate version, this winning three inches more in length.

We find a very dynamic style with a sloping hood forward. The bulging fenders and beautifully sculpted give a sporty, well known Mazda. The very almond-shaped headlights are accompanied by sharp anti-fog almost square. The profile is very elegant, with its plunging waistline and straps of chrome framing the windows, the latter being stained to the rear. The Sport finish associated with the engine tested is equipped with series of beautiful alloy wheels of 18 inches. As for the rear, the tailgate glass is very steep, and therefore will in no line. Note the presence of a spoiler and exit canola escapement chrome reinforces this little sports front, while remaining sober.

The aesthetics of this model is successful, and it is not uncommon to find that despite its role as a family wagon, the Mazda 6 Fast Wagon is eye catching the eyes of pedestrians.

On board:

Our test model has the finishing “Sport”, which is in the middle of the range (Elegance, Sport Performance), the only level available with the 2.2 MZR-CD 163 hp. It includes a lot of standard equipment such as alarm, alloy wheels 18 “, parking radars front and rear, the system of monitoring pressure of tires, semi-leather upholstery with heated seats, key less The hands-free Blue tooth, a 6-CD compatible MP3, Stereo (Bose 8 HP), and Bi-Xenon headlights, adaptive self! This list is bloated a good point, knowing that most of these items are available in standard finishes as high competition, or even available as options.

The interior of the Mazda 6 is finished despite the accumulation of hard plastics. It is astonishing to note the presence of foamed plastic only on the top of the dashboard, passenger side. During our test, we noticed no noise. The presentation is classic, but the combination of insert parts painted gray and is pleasant. The steering wheel is adjustable to three branches in height and depth, it is covered with leather. The semi-leather seats are quite comfortable; we regret just a slight lack of lateral support. Only the driver can benefit from adjustable height and lumbar support. The button to activate the seat heating has two power levels, and it is very effective!

When the rear seats, they are spacious and comfortable, and headroom is generous. However passengers will have the ashtray and a pocket on the back of the passenger seat as storage space, doors that do not contain empty pockets.

On the audio side, the Bose system includes eight speakers and allows playback of MP3. Even if it lacks an equalizer for the sound level settings bass and treble controls are present and the sound quality is good feeling. An auxiliary jack is located under the armrest; it is a pity not to find a USB.

Finally, the hands free Blue tooth is very simple to drive, you just need to pair the phone using voice commands first, then each subsequent use of the vehicle, the system automatically up and running. Several models of phones can be so registered, indicating the priority of each.

Safe & Modularity

The fairly large trunk and relatively low loading sill facilitate access. Its volume is 519 dm3, and extending to 1751 cm3, once the rear seat folded. This manipulation designed to be easy, with two handles housed on either side of the bunker.

The Mazda 6 has two diesel engines in its range and therefore the most recent; the MZR-CD is available with three power levels. Our trial version is equipped with 163 hp. From the first ride, there is a real acoustic comfort. This silence on board is nothing hidden in the capacity of the engine. Indeed it proves to be very responsive and available from low revs and consistently. The maximum power is reached at 3,500 rpm; torque of 360 Nm is available between 1800 rpm and 3000 rpm. Very flexible and lively at the time, it is very pleasant to drive, and adapts to all types of driving. The fourth report seems fairly long road and it will be easy to double or slow down without playing the lever. The 6-speed gearbox is good, but some reports it can hang a little. The cruise control is a very good accuracy, even at steep slopes.
