Boldly redesigned in 1996, America’s best-selling car moves into the 1997 model year with styling that has taken some consumers a while to get used to. Ford has promoted acceptance of the new oval-inspired design with rebates and the introduction in February, 1996, of the Taurus G—the line’s entry-level model with an MSRP just under the $18,000 price point.
